Disability Aid Dogs Dumps Rutland Manor

August 17, 2009

I left a letter regarding RM and Beverley Mannors on this forum. I am Alex Van Oeveren and wish all to know that due to reasons that have come to light, including the debarking of many dogs, Beverley Manors and Rutland Manor are no longer recognised by Disability Aid Dogs in any way, and we regret to say that we have told many people today 11/08/09 that Beverley is no longer our patron nor accredited in any way by our international organisation.

I leave this regretfully, but need everyone to know the truth. I visited RM and did an audit, finding many problems. Our standards of animal handling do not allow the debarking of dogs to the extent that it was done in RM.

NOTE: This does NOT include in any way the credibility or standards of Adam and Adele Lindley who are highly devoted to their dogs.

Please contact Disability Aid Dogs and congratulate them for making this courageous decision and being a voice for these animals.

Beverley Manners has failed so far to remove her DDA endorsement from her website or the link to the vet article which has resulted in yet another email from Jane Barber.

I have been advised that you have not yet honored  my request to remove my article from your web site.  You need to do so immediately to avoid repercussion.  I plan to check you web site again on Friday, August 28th, to see if this change has been effected.

Once you visit Rutland Manor and see the filth and the cruelty it becomes undeniable !
This puppy farm must be shut down!

Alex i am sure this has come as a shock to you. Learning that a breeder you had placed your faith and trust in does not keep to the standards you endorse for DDA.
Congratulations on your bravery and wishing you all the best for your organisation

Yes Alex I am sure this has been extremely difficult for you, Adam and Adele and for your organization. I hope many will learn from this experience and your example and that such accreditation in future are undertaken with a different formula and criteria. I also hope in future you will be more open to feedback and input from others such as myself who you tried to silence very early on. It has only been through loud voices from myself and many others that these dogs could speak and protest. You have not only bravely come forward for the dogs, but for those in our society who depend on such dogs and I congratulate you for your decision and the courage of your convictions.

A responsible decision, Alex. Thank you for having the courage. It takes a BIG man to take action on a mistake.

These puppy farms wrap themselves up in an assistance dog flag and proclaim that all they do is for the good of humanity, when they tarnish the very word “human”

Thank you Alex and Disability Aid Dogs, a brave stand you have made. Lets hope your courage in speaking out encourages others to do so as well. I have been watching this site with interest, not wanting to believe but deep down I knew it was true.
Its a sad day for this beautiful breed, lets hope RM shuts down and disappears for good.

Alex, you fell amongst liars and bankrupts, thank heavens you had the strength of will to get away from them .

And thank goodness for credible and responsible professionals like Dr Jane Barber too which only goes to demonstrate that many from across the board are prepared to speak out and ensure accurate and credible information is available to the public as opposed to Beverley’s made up, imagined and at time completely dishonest and self promoting representation of the truth and distortion of the facts.

Sad day indeed, like I said before I respect Dr. Barber especially since she has nothing to do with any breeder. I would like to contact Alex, but his website is closed d/t construction.

You could leave a message for him here as the rest of have. It is sad Heike but sadder for those poor dogs.

Looks like another relationship ruined by her hands. From reading the UK site, Adam and Adele have disassociated themselves from all parties involved and feel they have been used as a “pawn” . I just hope Alex and the Lindleys can mend their relationship.
