Comply or Cease Breeding -new EPA Order

August 24, 2009

New Minor Works Pollution Abatement Notice
On Friday 21st August 2009, the Environmental Protection Agency  issued New Covenant Corporation Pty Ltd with a new Minor Works Pollution Abatement Notice. This notice requires New Covenant Corporation to remove all breeding dogs from the premises within 30 days (21st September 2009) and cease breeding dogs until they have upgraded the kennels in accordance with all recommendations made within a report by an acoustic consultant and then demonstrate to EPA they can meet noise limits.

Why did the EPA issue this new notice?

This notice was issued following  a letter from New Covenant Corporation which failed to satisfy the EPA that they would be able to meet noise limits in the future through improved engineering/noise abatement and not rely on debarking.

It is the EPA’s expectation that kennels will be upgraded within the 30 days, or should it take longer the dogs will need to be relocated elsewhere. The EPA will ensure all upgrade requirements and notice requirements have been met before allowing the dogs to return to the premises.

Rutland Manor have now had 8 months to comply with the original EPA notice and fix their kennels. If they had accepted the authority’s recommendations rather than de-bark the dogs this would not be happening now. Rutland Manor have no one but themselves to blame.

Bev, you have no longer any credible person backing you, only your “cult” members now. Like I said before you can change your website a hundred times a day, more you chat page every week, but you cannot hide and your lies will be EXPOSED.

The exposure of this puppy farmer needs to be publicised far and wide.

Beverley Manners exemplifies the cruel, dishonest and greedy character types of those who factory farm dogs with absolutely no regard for the knowledge that hundreds of thousands of healthy dogs are killed each year due to overbreeding.
Lies are these farmers’ trademark – for how else can they reconcile their sordid business with the harsh reality ?

I hope Rutland Manor story – including the names of all their business partners – veterinarians, other puppy farmers and councillors; is published in major news sources .

Please try not to lose sight of the fact that there are some breeders who breed to very high standards and do the right thing with integrity and honesty.

Jarvis I don’t think anyone has lost sight. I am myself an Australian ANKC registered breeder. I have very high standards and I adore my own dogs and there is nothing I would not go wiothout for any of them. I show some of my dogs and I breed only when I have to – not to supply puppies to others. I have both integrity and I am honest and have had a considerable amount of involvement with both the rescue and the rehoming of dogs (my own breed). It is precisely because of all of this, that I strongly oppose people like Beverly Manners and want her shut down forever and held to account. And yes there are many good and responsible breeders. There is no ‘class’ distiction when it comes to a united abhorrence to animal cruelty and puppy farming. It is about right and wrong and loving dogs.
