The Blame Game begins

July 1, 2010

Sadly due to lack of communication between RL and RM Happy was bred before having some required veterinary treatment and five of her babies already arrived at the Rainbows bridge. Rutland Manor Website July 2010

So a communication error resulted in the death of 5 puppies? Are they serious!

And this from a research centre? Exactly what kind of research is being conducted here?

Currently in Australia if you were to rescue a dog from a pound it would cost around $300 and thats including desexing, microchipping and vaccinations.

Lets wait and see if the two surviving pound puppies will be sold for thousands with pedigrees therefore continuing the consumer fraud.

A comment left on one of our posts led us to contact the vet clinic where it was claimed Happy had to placed under a general anaesthetic to have grass seeds (stickers) removed from deep inside her ear canals and vulva, sadly we can confirm this as true.

The dismissal and pathetic explanation of the death of 5 puppies is a reminder to you all of the disregard Rutland Manor has for these precious animals. They are simply viewed as “dollar signs” when they are born.

And now the battle has begun, the blame game begins. RM verses RL.

We hope that someone has the courage to put the dogs first for once rather than their bank accounts and desex them and find them homes.

Beverley for God’s sake retire, they have suffered enough.

Happy looks clipped and dematted and I have a feeling that this must be Twyla’s doing.

currently on the property? Derek Cunningham was supposed to organise for my two American Cockapoo breeding females to come home to Australia to me.

I think you are wonderful to have organised and paid for the dogs to have their matted coats clipped off. Derek and Cheri should be ashamed of themselves for letting them get into that condition. No wonder Angela’s heart has been breaking. You are a true dog lover Peggy and I take off my hat to you.

We don’t know what happened to those pups. Maybe we will in time. A mis-communication is hardly an excuse or explanation. How does one ‘confuse’ a dog that needed vet surgery before breeding? Shaking my head.

Was Happy pregnant before leaving Australia or while in Texas? Who is ‘holding the reins’ at Rutland’s Legacy and is Happy’s pups the result of the ‘who is in charge struggle’?

Happy must be bred in the US as Akubra is one Twyla’s dogs which she received as an intact puppy from RM.
Now it is up to doing the maths to find out how this “miscommunication” could have happened.
The average pregnancy lasts 63 days, the latest RM website states that the puppies are 12 days old. So they must have been born around mid June and Happy must have been bred around mid of April. Exactly the timeslot when Beverley flew to the US – but instead of hurrying to RL and taking mentorship seriously to support and advise unexperienced poor Twyla, she chose to let herself getting celebrated by her cult followers in California first for a couple of weeks. If you really care about your legacy you just don’t leave your “precious babies” alone and let them get bred by someone who just only received the dogs and doesn’t have any knowledge at all.
There is no way that you basically “forget” or “miscommunicate” about a health issue on one of your breeding dogs if you know that someone else is taking care of them.
If the story about “miscommunication” is really how it happened it only shows again that Beverley doesn’t give a s*** about her dogs, otherwise she wouldn’t have left ANY room for misunderstandings or interpretation.
Unfortunately I do believe that this story is just an excuse for the real reason of the dead born puppies……
Twyla, I am sure you are reading on this website and I think you must have been heartbroken seeing such a sad thing happening with the first litter of YOUR Akruba: Has Beverley you provided with ANY written documentation of Happy’s health testing????

Of course she didn’t give Twyla any documentation of Happy’s health testing! She doesn’t do health tests! Pretty simple to her. Why spend the money on the dogs? Why start something new? She’s supposed to post documentation when she gets home. What a laugh. Who would believe that any documentation is authentic when she alters exit papers of puppies to show they meet the age requirement the Australian law mandates. Why keep the puppies until they reach the proper age? It would cost money to feed them. Assuming she does feed them. It would be great if puppy owners started DNA testing there Labradoodles to see what they really are. Most of them wouldn’t care. Puppies pull at your heart strings and you fall in love with your puppy. But the lies and fraud are what matter as far as papers go. Hopefully you can be counted lucky if your puppy is healthy. Too bad there isn’t a central registering place where RM Labradoodle owners can post their stories and whether or not RM honoured the health warranty.

The only way any miscommunications about something as IMPORTANT as a dog needing veterinary treatment before being bred is, you are dealing with too many dogs to begin with in order to keep track of their needs! Gheesh!
Or..if there was nothing for Bev to gain from this litter being born..then it’s wouldn’t surprise me if Bev intentionally forgot to mention Happy’s medical needs, since this vile woman is truely capable of anything!

    July 2, 2010 2:18 am

What kind of medical attention could Happy have possibly needed before being bred that would have made her have a normal pregnancy?

If one good thing comes out of this horrible misfortune of dead puppies, it could be that Twyla and the others are finally getting a taste of what Beverley has shown to so many before them… her vindictive and nasty nature, which is clear in her “press release” about the so-called “lack of communication”.

But it is surprising that Bev would alienate the last of her supporters. Who will she have left, the irrationally loyal people with the supposed Labradoodle which is probably an Irish Setter from the pound? Poor people, poor dogs. Let’s hope Twyla’s preparing to give Bev the heave ho.

She has Helen of course. I think she is finding one door after another slammed in her face now that people are catching on to her fraud scheme. Soon there will be no one left Beverley. I hope Helen has a lot of money to support you on your pensioners income.

I wonder why Beverley hasn’t used some of the $20,000.00 she was “blessed” with by someone with the initials J.Y. on those poor neglected dogs! Shame on you for conning yet another person and still not putting that money toward the dogs. Did you spend it all on your cigarettes? Disgusting! J.Y. surely feels ripped off.

I look and think to myself about all those fantastic people that has helped rm and bev over all the years. And have been there at her beck and call, only to be jibed.ITs all to true.sadley.Well Twyla your vision comming over is all to true.I think about real familys that has not been payed.the promises of trips to workers close friends, that did not take place, alot has taken place over the years.the security guard that dropped everythig one night to a phone call and grabed a tent and his gear and headed out on a 3hr trip to rm and stayed 3 weeks not to get payed.the list will go on and on and on…Twyla and mick stick to what you know is right.evil will only win when good people do nothing.

Wow, just been called that animal activist, OUCH, LOL….only a true puppy farmer would think being an animal activist is a bad thing…yes Bev, I am an animal activist and it has only just begun……stay tuned for the bomb is just the beginning and the ripple effect will have far and wide consequences.

That is not such a bad thing to be called at all. Only people who lie and hide behind a glossy website would be offended. Although activists can be ‘over the top’ most of them just feel very strongly about something that needs correction. Lord knows, the dogs of Rutland Manor need to be saved and being ‘a bit over the top’ is a good thing at this time!! We all need to keep the pressure on until those dogs are placed in loving homes and Bev pays her dues.

What on earth did Bev ever contribute, dogs from puppy mills like Banksia and Valley View sold on for thousands of dollars?

If she retires on just enough to live on she will be doing better than Bobbi Jo and Billie Jo. I won’t forget those girls on deathrow at Banksia. Bev promised she would never sell to dealers or puppy farms, her promises mean nothing, big fat Zero.

Bev ‘pimps out’ dogs. Money is the only reason. She is the Madam of Scammers worldwide. I look into those dogs eyes and just want to cry. Something so giving, so loving, so wanting to please and it is never enough for her. Until their dying day, it is never enough.

Yes it has, now it’s the solicited letters and kudos from former puppy owners so she can fill her page with all the kudos once again…..she’s pathetic and very transparent I may say..

  12. July 18, 2010 1:47 am

No matter how many people you put up on your site that have wonderful puppies, IT DOESN”T give you a free pass to undo what you have done over the years to all the dogs you used and abused….to get those puppies…something they wouldn’t know now would they…why not you put up the other side of the story Bev, the real side…. the puppies born dead, born with congential defects, the mother dogs that have suffered by neglect…Nope didn’t think so. Another FACT, you want to call yourself the cofounder, go right ahead and that makes you, yes YOU responsible for the millions of other dogs around the world that have suffered in puppy mills…because you started the craze now didn’t you, Kudos Bev you have singlehandly started the biggest dog abuse industry because you developed the Labradoodle……and you posted it for the world to see.

Good point about the website, its very thin and constantly changing. I keep finding the same problem, where are the old dogs?
Rutlands Choco owned by this family is supposed to be 9 years old in 2009 but wasn’t he actually born in 2003, Rutlands Magnum x Rutlands Dolce? Born 30/08/2003 to be precise

    “CHOCO BAMBO 9 YRS 2009

Prior to purchasing Choco Ziggy Bear from Rutland Manor, I had researched dog breeders from around the world for 3 years to find a healthy, intelligent, and hypoallergenic dog (my husband is allergic to dogs).

Although I did extensive research, I consider myself very lucky to have found Beverly Manners. My Australian Labradoodle Chocco is the best dog I have ever had. He has had no health issues whatsoever! A rarity in purebred dogs today.”

When that was written, the dog was only 6! Just a youngster really.

    Then there is Bonnie http://www.rutlandmanor.com/pages/gallery/bonnie-9-yrs-20091741.php
a brown dog that looks like a labrador? Or Harvey, said to be 12?

I really am not convinced about these testimonials to older dogs, I wonder where she dug them up from. Beverley was breeding labradoodles from about 98/99 onwards, Tegan Park was a bit earlier.

    • July 18, 2010 9:53 pm

Can we even be sure that this dog was ever owned by Bev? Or did she scam this lovely animal. Did this person own the animal before Bev and Bev used her for a litter? Or was Bonnie from the Wally days and was rehomed BEFORE Bev had gotten her hands on her? Or was that whole lovely story made up and this woman does not have a clue it was on Bev’s website?

There is nothing that I would not believe Bev could do. She is enormously gifted in devient behavior.

  15. July 20, 2010 4:33 am

That’s not a labradoodle as she claims, it’s a chocolate lab, what a joke…@Carole, maybe she just made it all up, wouldn’t suprise me…

hi folks, just a query, while we are questioning the authenticity of BE’s animals… although she now recognises Wally Conran as the breeds originator… who is this Don Evans she says her and her daughter purchased their first animals from… I cant find any info on him in relation to dog breeding…. let alone developing labradoodles???

    • August 4, 2010 7:48 pm

I believe Don Evans was a trainer – maybe for the blind associations when the Labradoodle was being considered more of a ‘service dog’? I know this name and it has been attached to Labradoodles.

      • August 4, 2010 7:53 pm

Here is some info from the Rutlands site:

It was exciting to discover the work of the Royal Melbourne Guide Dogs and a man called Don Evans . I was sure that my thirty plus years of experience would be valuable in the decisions which would need to be made to develop a brand new healthy breed.

My daughter Angela and I each purchased our first breeding stock from Mr Don Evans in northern Victoria. Don had been crossing Labradors and Poodles (as well as other mixed hybrids) and we were fortunate to purchase some dogs who were already in their second and third generation along.

Although our vision for this new breed was the same in the beginning, there were philosophical differences which were irreconcilable, and each of us set up a separate Breeding and Research Center expressly for the research and development of this new dog breed.

Angela named her center Tegan Park and I called mine Rutland Manor in honor of the last German Shepherd dog I bred, “Rutland”. Angela later changed her name by deed poll to Rutland-Manners, but closed her Tegan Park (Tegans) in 2008.

I hope my story has helped you become more acquainted with me and to understand why my passion for the Australian Labradoodle has become such a focal point of my life.

        August 14, 2010 9:09 am

Don Evans was another puppy farmer from Victoria. He bred mainly mixed breed hunting/pig dogs:

“”Don Evans loved his dogs but he bred everything and anything,” said Beverley Manners. “If a bitch was in season and a male was interested, well, he just said, ‘why not.’ Don had bred poodles and labs together and had several second and third generation Labradoodles—that’s where I got my original stock.” ”

All the puppy farmers there sell and trade breeding stock with one another, and these two were no different. Neither Don Evans or Beverley ever had anything to do with Wally Conron or Guide Dogs.
