Devil in disguise

November 12, 2010

With dwindling sales and lack of support once again Beverley has attempted to wrap herself in a cloak of credibility by latching on to the disabled, the ill and the elderly, the most vulnerable members of our society.

Of course this isnt new and is something Beverley attempts every time sales are down.

Disability Aid Dogs were strong supporters of Rutland Manor, but then they visited the factory farm and reported the cruelty they witnessed to the RSPCA and disassociated themselves publicly from Rutland Manor and Beverley Manners.

Then came a brief moment with Hypo ALert Oz Service Dogs (HALO) as Vice President 🙂 It appears as though they have realised their ‘mistake’ and Beverley has suddenly ‘left’ the group. Anyone keeping count on how many groups Beverley has ‘left’ or ‘founded’ and then ‘left’? We know that Shania has been finally set free and has been ‘donated’ to one of of HALO’s member’s. We hope that after a lifetime of illegal back to back breeding on two factory farms (Rutland Manor and Tegan Park) that Shania finally finds the home as a beloved pet that she so richly deserves.

And now Beverley has latched on to yet another respectable group helping “disabled and medically challenged” Aussie Angels Assistance Dogs.  This is a clear attempt to boost sales and improve Rutland Manor’s factory farming reputation.

And whilst Beverley continues to commit fraud with her fake pedigree’s and charge consumers ridiculous prices for her factory farmed puppies, we continue to receive emails from previous customers who are distraught and constantly at the vets and facing mounting vet bills. Heart murmurs, skin conditions, overbite’s, underbite’s, seizures to name a few – all signs and symptoms of just bad breeding, even after veterinary advice, and synonymous with factory farmed dogs.

We wonder how long this relationship will last? The majority of respectable groups that provide a service to the most vulnerable people in our society would never be associated with the cruelty of puppy factories. With growing public outrage at the way our pets are kept bred and sold, only time will tell if Aussie Angels recognises they have a devil in their midst.

Boycott Rutland Manor Puppy Factory

So now Beverley has no use for poor “Lil Chocolatier”? so she’s selling him as a breeding stud. Interesting that she took the recent photos of Chocolatier off her site; she must have realized how unkempt and neglected he looked and thought it’d be bad for business.

Hard to imagine anyone would buy a dog from this sick woman.

Be glad for his freedom! No more abuse from that horrible creature. How much frozen semen does she have? Probably none. She shops for stud service at any other local puppy farmer. Anything that can pass as a Labradoodle will do. Everyone knows that.

I just took a look at the only breeding male on the RM site, Musky. The picture of his supposed sire, Mon Ami is a fat looking dog due to his coat. The whole world knows what is really underneath that coat. It would be a giant felted mess and who even knows if he’s sired anything. What happened to Chocolateer? What happened to Knosses? What kind of person doesn’t provide valid information for potential buyers to have. We all know the answer to that.

I agree that Mon Ami does not look attractive. I wonder what is under that large coat. Why on earth would pics like that even be posted? You would think there should be better shots of a breeding stud.

I hope anyone supporting Canine Assistance Charities takes a good look at this page. ASK where the dogs come from.. are they from reputable and law-abiding breeders? Or are they puppy farm rejects, for example the shedding, smooth faced, black labradoodle pups no one else wants? The scam of donating unwanted, unsaleable puppies to a charity needs to be outed, is the “Charity” just there as a marketing tool, another way to sell puppies and dump overused breeding stock?
Has the “Charity” in fact been set up BY the Puppy Farm? We can see that Rutland Manor has tried at least 3 different ways to take control of an assistance dog charity in scarecely more than a year, two have gone their own way, that just leaves Aussie Angels. For the life of me I can’t see this ending well

The genuine Assistance Dog Charities themselves should examine in minute detail what breeders they are involved with as association with a PUPPY FARM will come back to bite them and damage their credibility.

Rutland Manor and Beverley are always busy trying to make things look on the up and up. It’s not working. When it’s not broken don’t fix it. Ms. Manners has been and is broken so she’s constantly trying to fix her image. Her website is terrible and no one can rely on it because it’s never consistant! She is losing ground by the day and just doesn’t get it. Go to several reputable Labradoodle sites and see how they are proud of their breeding stock and list all the necessary health information about their dogs. They are not hiding what they are doing. Ms. Manners hides because she is unethical and under barrage by the local shires, crushed by fines and warnings and is still boarding without a permit.
      Give it up Ms. Manners.

Congratulations are in order! Or are they? Knosses has sired eleven puppies out of a small girl, little Brolly. Does Beverley give any thought to anything but the dollar signs? It was thought for sure that poor Knossos was nothing more than is late daughter Spirit, a spirit. And after all the problems reported with his puppies, he is still being used as a stud and poor Brolly was pimped out to him.
Perhaps it was an accidental mating? No that could never happen at the RM Puppy Farm, could it. Surprising that she didn’t race Brolly off to be cut open to save all those, as she puts it, big fat puppies, as each one is more money in her backyard buried boxes. Again she claims an effortless birth! That is doubtful. How would she know when she was probably sitting at the computer, smoking when Brolly started birthing her babies. May God watch over them all and may they be healthy and escape the known heart issues. What are the odds in that though. Will her ‘paid off’ vet pick up the obvious signs of heart murmers or pass the puppies off as healthy.
    Keep it up Beverley.

People are still waiting for all the documents and proof of all your lies you keep claiming to post. And if you did, it wouldn’t matter because the world knows what you are and the handful of supporters you have left are restless and soon they too will be gone. You’ll always be alone and thats as it should be.

@ Anat – There is no such thing as a reputable breeder when it comes to crosses… Do you know the hereditary diseases that each of the breeds carries and are all breeding stock tested clear and normal to every single one. Are they Hip and Elbow scored so the puppy buyers know they have a sound puppy !!
NO – a great big HUGE fat NO.
That is why ‘everyone’ should buy a registered pedigree puppy from a REAL reputable and fully registered breeder… even one that is actively campaigning their dogs in shows and trials etc. They’re puppies are no more than the local corner shop thats selling Farm bred mongrals with problems.

And this is why the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel has a cranium that won’t accommodate it’s brain; the requirements of the *clubs* have doomed this breed by insisting on certain *looks*. Forget the health. And let’s not forget the German Shepherd breed is all but ruined.

Where is your documentation showing there are no reputable cross breed breeders? Obviously you are very uninformed and quite angry.

This site is dedicated to stop and expose a particular unethical, evil breeder, Beverley Manners of Rutland Manor in Australia and that is the focus here.

Very wrong Anat… Mostly all registered (I clearly state ‘mostly’) are doing their absolute best to reverse the damage done with DNA tests and xrays etc… those breeds are now becoming very sound indeed. Things are well and truely on the up.
Going by your post… you watched that lovely documentary on Pedigree dogs… I loved it too !! and sadly it was very true, but what they have failed miserably at is showing and explaining is how the ‘good’ breeders are actually fixing these problems.

I see every day the problem with cross breeds – they are all too cute when they a tiny, but then they grow up and they arent wanted anymore, they are ugly adults and not what the buyer wanted… they also start with the vet bills due to problems from crossing and inbreeding.

Most of these problems are already haunting the horrible Beverley… I just wish we could STOP them all from breeding incorrectly and very much limit how many litter ALL breeders are allowed to have.

        But I’ll keep dreaming

Becca…sorry you are hugely mistaken. Most reputable labradoodle breeders, which excludes Rutland Manor, do more health testing than ANY purebreed breeder would ever think of doing.
If you have a spare hour grab yourselve your favorite beverage and watch this 6 part series on Pedigree Dogs exposed.

The Show ring has been the demize of many purebreds..because health has no importance in the show ring and is not a requirement.
This documentary exposes the pitiful truth when winning ribbons is priority over health

I’ve seen all that before Mary and Anat. I can proudly say that is all very old news and the canine show world is a very different place in Australia, I can not speak for other countries BUT I’m proud to be a part of the NEW show world.
Could you please advise me of the testing they do for the cross breeds? As upon recieving your message I contacted the two testing facilities in Australia and they actually laughed at my query followed with a rapid, we have no queries for tests for any cross breeds.
These are the only two facilities in Australia for all genetic testing.
I also took it upon myself to call a few places I know that do a lot of the hip and elbow scoring around Australia, I found that no cross breeds are tested for hips and elbow for breeding purposes – only a few that want the test done for agility and dog sports.
I would also like to add – that they are Labrador X Poodles… there is no such thing as anything ‘oodle, other than a poodle.
Really looking forward to hearing about the testing and so forth of these cross breeds and the backyard breeders that create them.

hi… its been a month or so since i ve been on this site… have read this discussion with interest…
It is an unfortunate truth, that where money is involved there will always be unscrupulous individuals ready to take advantage.
It is true Mary that there are bad stud breeders. However, the difference between registered breeders, (of the stud variety) and backyard breeders is the fact that a third party (ie the legal system) has oversight on what they are doing. There is a third party they have to report to, who keeps all of the records, whose rules, regulations and requirements they have to follow etc, or the stud leaves itself open to legal action. There are unscupulous or un-informed stud breeders true… but there are a lot more unregulated, uneducated
un-iformed “backyard” breeders whose dogs never see a vet, let alone have immunisations, microchips, eye tests, Hip test etc. They don’t even know where the dog they are breeding from originated let alone what that dogs parents, grandparents or other relatives were. Some i have seen take advantage of dogs brought from breeders who were never to be sold for breeding, but have been obtained under false pretenses, or accidently had a litter of puppies before they were desexed. Where would i prefer to get my next dog from…? a breeder with 45 years of breeding experience, liscenced and registered with (for example) Dogs Victoria, or some person i get out of the local paper, where i don’t get to see the mum and dad, or where the puppies are kept…
And just so you know, my last litter of puppies left with at least the following info to their new owners. Their prospective owners saw them at around 6–7 weeks of age and took them home at 9 weeks there abouts.
They went with : Their birth date, weight, number in the litter. Worming and flea treatments used and dates, when next due, immunisation and vet checks and when next due. Eye tests and other results and info on what we were testing for. Limited registration papers… and photos that i had taken as they were growing up… Records of the names and adresses of their new owners were also kept… We still get phonecalls or letters about puppies that went to new owners three or four years ago.

Its a relative thing really… can you trust your breeder?
    best wishes

Now that’s ‘well said’ indeed !! I have an extremely strict ‘Code of Conduct’ (all 97 pages) that I must stick to very strongly… but my main rule is my own ethic and morals. I aspire to make the breed a better breed !! Not producing numbers.
I loath the backyard breeders that do nothing but numbers… they make me sick.
I loath the backyard breeders that think they have created a breed of their own when all they’ve done is create a nightmare.

I too, Alison have stayed in touch with my babies and am loving watching them all grow up… I also welcome any one of them back with open arms in any time of need. I am here with loving support and knowledge on the breed and training for the dogs life… Now there’s something else the backyarders and pet shops will NEVER do.
I also supply ALL information and more about the bloodlines, the testing results and breed. They get a very extensive pack about food and proper diet. All worming and microchip records. They are also supplied with gorgeous professional photographs taken whilst here, perfect to pop in a frame on the mantlepiece.

I am proud of my history and get excited about the future !!

Now – lets get back to ending all this bad breeding and cruelty to animals… Beverley Manners needs to be stopped and the sooner the better !!

So now Bev has to pollute the Doodle Zoo with more lies after she was told she is not welcome there. But no one has bought her defensive posts. She is low life, trash and you can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.

So your house is up for sale again. I guess your neighbors have finally driven you out of your neighborhood and some have even moved to get away from you.

Interesting that the first time it was up for auction last year, it looked cluttered and dumpy and was offered with a kennel and Cattery.

Now the pictures reflect a tidy, un lived in house so I guess you fled to Helens house. Are the dogs going to be stashed at Helens and Janes houses where they have no permits for that many dogs. Or can we hope you’ve re homed the dogs rather than kill them. I guess a complaint to the local shires about unlicensed breeding facilities are in order.

You also list the house as having ex kennels! I guess the Baw Baw Shire has finally won and shut you down. A great move on their part.

As for you son, he would do anything for Mum because there might be money in it. And he is very violent and the rumor is that he has a drug and jail history.

Posting private emails from Debra is sinking lower than it was thought even someone of your low class and stupidity would do. What a good Christian you are. Turn the other cheek is not something you learned. But guess what, the surprise is on you. Who cares.

You don’t have a lot of support and you do have traitors among your so called supporters who report the goings on at RM. That is why so much is known about your movements.
This time, people aren’t giving up until you are an ugly part of history.

BTW…the auction of your house on Roberts Road is public information.

And with the low value of your property and the multiple times you’ve whined that you had to mortgage it for so many thousands of dollars, if one were to add all that up, it would be more than the property is worth. You did claim you might lose your house! Good, I hope you do. What goes around, comes around.

Why not mend fences with Angela. Birds of a feather flock together.

I wonder if Beverley suspects that someone took cheek swabs a while back and has them stored and will soon be doing DNA testing on most of her current and former breeding dogs and as many of their offspring as is possible. What surprises are in store Mrs Manners. Then what will your excuse be?

hi folks, i am wondering if Beverley recieved permission from Wayne from Melbourne or his family when she published the terrible details of their family medical tragedy. She says she lost contact with them sometime after she gave them Rutlands Magnum… I ‘m sure they wanted the details of their family tragedy on the net for the whole world to read. If anyone knows them perhaps they could ask them if they were asked, or if their permission was gained?

She posts anything that will make her look good. One year at the Malibu Romp in the US, she refused to pay the winner of one of her lame contests and blamed it on that she was broke and someone else was supposed to pay the prize money. That someone was Curtis Rist of Hudson Labradoodles. He said Beverley owed the money. He said, she said.

The winner never got the prize money. Then Beverley had the nerve to post on her chat site that the winner generously donated her prize money back to RM for further research! Lies lies lies. She did that without the winners knowledge or permission. Beverley thought it would appease the winner by making them look generous and getting Beverley off the hook for being the liar and fraud that she is.

That winner was furious and had nothing to do with that post. How could they donate money they never rightfully received.

Of course the money stayed in Beverley’s pocketbook. Another low class move.

    To Becca:

I’m not sure where you’ve obtained your information, but it is not correct.

If you go to the Australian Veterinary Association website, you will see that they created a category for Labradoodles in their Canine Hip Dysplasia Scheme back in the year 2000. In the year ending 2009, there were a total of 485 tested under the scheme (compared to other popular breeds, such as 122 Standard Poodles and 648 Border Collies tested, for example).

In addition, the ALA (Australian Labradoodle Association) was the first dog club in the world to make testing for PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy, which causes blindness) compulsory in all breeding dogs. They also require testing for knees, elbows, heart, plus yearly thyroid ands eye testing. I would challenge anyone to nominate a purebred dog club that requires such rigorous mandatory testing.

Further, the Australian Labradoodle Association has worked closely with Genetic Technologies in Melbourne ( to develop DNA testing specifically for Labradoodles for a number of genetic and inheritable disorders found in both Poodles and Labradors.

I completely agree that bad breeders should be brought to account, wherever they may be found, and regardless of whether they are breeding purebreds or crosses. However, I see no reason why other responsible breeders, who are doing their best to breed happy and healthy dogs, should be attacked using erroneous information such as you’ve posted. JMO

  13. February 28, 2011 11:09 am

although you are right about responsible breeders linny,
i am trying to work out a few things… it sometimes appears to the non-doodle outsider that there are many ‘oodle’ associations that are started at the drop of a hat… who do these associations report to? Who is the governing body that holds their records, and requirements. I am not meaning this as a critcism of your group, but it is one of the problems i have with any of the animals with tegan park or rutland manor listed in their background. There is no document from these studs that can be trusted, because they were responsible to no-one. If only from a purely legal perspective, there was no third party who could hold them accountable for changes to previous pedigrees. Breeders have no where to turn to for proof. How can you proove your animal is what those records say they are, when Beverley or Angela are the only ones with the records. At least Dog’s Victoria breeders can’t change their own pedigrees because they dont hold the register in their own house.
With 45 years of breeding history, my family has a pretty good idea what each line is likely to throw, but we still get them tested. I might add we’ve been eye testing for a lot longer then that.

Currently on the every changing Rutland Puppy Mill website a very sickening comment is made by none other than Beverley Manners , Puppy Abuser, which is in quotes below.

“His tragic loss by deceitful means through the alleged collaboration of Twyla Pyles in Texas and her close friend Kate Pappas in California, will not affect his influence on the breed, because of his daughters still breeding, but I will forever mourn his physical loss to me on a personal basis. The last time I looked into Kelby’s wonderful eyes in Texas, I thought it was ‘au revoir’ but it was to be ‘goodbye’. I didn’t know it, but I think Kelby did. There was something inexplicable in his expression that I couldn’t read on that fateful night. Wherever you are Kelby, I will always love you.”

History shows that Beverley herself shipped the dogs out of Australia so they wouldn’t be seized by Trish and ALan Male who had a lawsuit against her. Another unsuspecting, kind couple who were trying to help a poor old lady and she screwed them over big time.

No one stole Kelby or any of the other lucky dogs.

You wouldn’t know Kelby from Lassie. You never spent time with those dogs and Kelby most likely didn’t like you. Dogs know people and they know evil. Your bleeding heart, get a handerchief, stomach turning comment is being laughed at by thousands of people around the world who have your number finally.
Your sales have dropped in America too. People all over America are spreading the word “DON’T BUY FROM RUTLAND MANOR. IT’S A PUPPY MILL”.

There is pity overflowing for any bitches in whelp at your farm. But the farm has slowed down and that is great news.

And did you really sell your Roberts Road property, or did you transfer it into one of your many companies to keep it safe from all the people you owe money too and are suing you?

People can go to any Labradoodle website, including the breeders on your website, and see where the dogs live and where the puppies are whelped. Why are you hiding where the Rutland dogs are? I would want to know where my puppy was going to be born if I was on your $500.00 no money back, wait list!
Who knows maybe the poor souls will be born in the back of a Ute.
Leave Victoria, get a flat somewhere and go on the dole and leave the breeding of Labradoodles to the breeders who know what they’re doing.

Like Grace George of Green Gables. A very sweet woman with a classy website. But it’s interesting to read that her Rutland and Tegan Labradoodles left Australia with no infusions in their lines.
????? Then they wouldn’t be the TRUE Australian Wheatendoodle would they? What’s next in your Frankensteinian concoction, a Bichon, or why not a German Shepherd? You could make up research to show why that is good to do.
Give up, retire and make the world happy. Maybe you could partially redeem yourself by doing that.

Actually Anat, the part of your email about the Frankensteinian concoction is not far from the truth. There was a Bichon used in the breeding of Rutland Manor and Tegan Park Labradoodles by the name of Pinocchio. I don’t know where he is now. He was probably sold to Colin Hamms puppy mill like all the other unwanted breeding stock that they didn’t want people to see. There was also a purebred cocker spaniel and I believe a water spaniel or something similar that were used as stud dogs.

Nothing about that monster surprises anyone. I do recall the name Pinocchio but didn’t know he was a Bichon! What would really floor people is if one of her concoctions came up with spots because she threw in a Dalmation and didn’t know it.

She does admit to Cocker Spaniels and Cockerpoos but who knows. She sure doesn’t.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Shania is still breeding either. Her puppies could be passed of as any one of the current bitches puppies. You know, bait and switch. She’s a big time game player, that one. But she’s playing with living creatures who have no say.

    hi all,
does anyone know when beverley’s children were born??

i cant work out her time frames… if she had thirty years of breeding and showing experience… why is she shown in a wheel chair in a photo dated in 1993, the middle of the time frame she says she was busy showing and judging in groups 3 and 5…, and they look like golden retrievers, not german shepherds with her….
If she was 70 in 2010, then she born around 1940… if she was 28 when she broke her neck and whiplashed her spine (seems slightly back to front there too), then this would have been in 1968… hospital and rehab say for two years in those days makes it around 1970 she got home by herself, with her german shepherds… so when did she train to be a show judge if she couldn’t walk properly… when did she get to shows, learn how to be a show steward, and do the physical experience required to become a judge if she was still in a wheelchair in 1993…??
